So hello dearest family!!

I have my first Zone conference tonight, I don't really know what it will be but when my teachers were speaking portuguese and explaining it to me, I picked up that they are really awesome and to be ready to learn a lot!!! :)

My companion and I have had some good experiences, we are still learning how to work together, she is a little scared of talking to people so we have really pushed her being able to start and keep up a conversation on her own. She is doing a lot better!!! We made some goals to work on together, I think it will be nice to be working toward something together instead of working on each other! I am sure that is obvious to everyone but it has been a good realization for me!

Portueguse is coming slow (I always spell that wrong) I feel like I am to the point where I am beginng to really understand! When the teachers talk I can understand most everything they say! Sometimes I stop listening for a minute and then I am lost, so it takes a lot of effort but it feels good! I get insecure about talking though, I know I just need to start making mistakes and talking! I made some goals but I just have to do it. I get scared!! :) It will all work out. Sometimes our teachers laugh at us, and I am sure it is really funny when you actually know what it's supposed to sound like and what you're saying!!! :)

We have a newish Sister in our room with us, (by room I mean residence hall) where we sleep, like a dorm-ish. She is so cool. Sister Black from Seattle area, lots of Washington people here! She is great, we laugh and talk a lot more with her, she has the craziest things happen to her and we all take the chance to laugh and relax at night because she always has a great story, she is so funny, and definately a blessing for our group. She is in a different district (class) but she is such a people person, she lights up the room. She is a loud red head, I dont know if that helps at all but she is great! Sister Bailey and Sister Myers are the other Sisters in our District and they are so smart!! They are really good at Portueugese!! My companion is Sister Jessee (I dont know if everyone knew that or not).

I heard the stake split!! How is the adjustment going? Is it a really small stake now or is still a pretty good size?

I love you all!! Thank you so much for your love, I love hearing from everyone!!! Please let me know how you are all doing!!!

I love you all.

Plano de Salvacao

Family!!!

Ok so there are no accents over the subject but it would sound cool. I had the coolest experience, well I have had a lot this week, but one was when our district was reading and it was about resurrection and how Moroni was a resurrected and glorified being. I had the simplest sweetest feeling that the plan of salvation is real and that we can live with our families forever. I just wanted to share that with you all because I am so grateful that it can apply to us, it just takes a lot of work! I love you.

So this week something great happened, on Monday, which is a surprisingly exciting day at the MTC, I got to do my online Visa application!!!! So I don't think I will be reassigned to a different mission before going to Brazil, but I will probably finish my time out here!! !Anyways super exciting and cool!!!

We learned head, shoulders, knees and toes! In Portuguese!! I'll tell you the words! Cabeca, ombros joelhos, pes (this is actually feet) repeat, olhos, orelhos, boca, noriz!!!!! super cool! It's fun to think about how each applied to missionary work...the only one I didnt really apply was nose................(noriz). I would love any ideas if you can think of them. Ask the kids and let me know, they always have great answers!!

It's amazing how much we learn here, sometimes I feel really stupid but I learn a lot from it!! It's all in the hind sight!

I know the first vision in portuguese now.

I usually do a low side ponytail then let it dry and I twist it, looks pretty cool, I'll send a picture, but then the other day I defused my hair and one of the elders in my district (Elder States, who actually really reminds me of Shaddix...... funny how that works) had a shocked look on his face, he said, "oh, I didn't recognize you!!!" Typing it didn't really get the whole emotion into it but he was very surprised to see me with big curly hair.

So I eat a lot here, and then we sit a lot....I need to be more careful of that from here on out!!! I have been working out really hard the last few days and trying to not eat as much, it has helped, amazingly!!!

I have had some amazing answers to prayers!!! One experience before I go, I had been wondering why me and my companion were together, trusting there was a reason but not knowing and kind of struggling. Then the other day we were getting ready to go over our lesson and I kept feeling like I should ask if she was stressing out and wanted to have a companionship inventory. Anyways because of some good questions and her being willing to talk we talked for 4 hours (mdt time, don't worry) about things she had gone through in her life that were just like me, but she hadn't had anyone to help her yet so I was there and I told her everything that I could and tried to help her! It was amzing! It was a huge answer to prayer!!! I am so blessed.

I pray for you all everyday! Thank you for what you do for me!!!!

So it's week 3 in the MTC according to MTC time. Technically week 2 but they count the first 4 days as a week!! Things are good, busy as always and I am always tired! :) but with a smile on my face!!

I have a few pictures to send!!!!! Not a ton but at least me and my district together!!!

So Portugeuse is still going, I think I spell that different every time I write it, sorry, but you all know what I mean :) We are teaching and studying a lot. We are learning all of the grammer right now!! There are 3 different past tense congigations and it just gets more and more exciting from there on out!!!
It has really helped my concentration thinking about this is the Lords time!! NOT MINE!!!! I keep thinking about me but then I get distracted so I have it writtten down in my planner that this is the Lord's time and I need to get to work! Confession with that, I was writing letters back to people before meetings would start and at night but that wasn't good so I will only be writing letters on p-day!!! Which means if it takes me a long time to respond I am REALLY REALLY sorry. but know that I love you and that I am trying really hard to write fast!!!! I love you all!!!

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY EVERYONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)

It's fun to walk around and hear all of the different languages being spoken!!!! Way cool! When people open the door we say "obrigada" (thank you) and they respond in whatever language they have, pretty fun.

No super crazy fun stories but the Elders in my district are FUNNY!!! Some really loud ones, some really serious ones, and then just some funny ones. There are 12 people in our district: 4 sisters, 8 elders, 2 teachers and a very small classroom!!!!

How is everyone doing? How is home? Are Lincoln and Rebecca talking yet? Have Kaylee's teeth come in? How is Eddie doing in school? Any new dinos for Shay? Does Bella have any new exciting stories about the baby?? :) So excited to see pictures in a few months!!! How is shax?? Talking a ton? How is Nate? Still amazing at toys? Can he read now? How is nenna? Good at a bottle?

I want you all to know that I love you and I am trying to serve you from here!!!

I love you all so much, I have 10 seconds!!
Love you, I am so happy!!

Hey, I have 5 minutes, it's going to be bad spelling.

I love you all, never forget that. SO the MTC is so hard!!! It is constantly draining and I feel like I never get enough sleep. We turn the lights off at 10:30 and then sleep until 5:45, get up and do a girls only exercise class, then we have gym for about an hour at sometime in the day, then we go to study for an hour, breakfst, companion study for an hour, 6-7 hours with teachers, meetings, classes etc. planning 9-9:30 then get ready for bed, journal and then lights out again.

It's hard and I get really down sometimes, but I have never felt the love of Heavenly Father more or felt the Spirit so strongly. The gospel is all about Heavenly Fathers love for us and how we can return to him with our families. We can bear our testimonies and pray in Portuguese and we have taught a first discussion. I have felt the spirit warm my heart when someone bore their testimony in Italian. It was really cool to experience. It is geat to be here.

Funny thing we had the fire alarm go off this week, someone was cooking popcorn at night so we all went to the gym for 20 minutes.

I did temple sealings today. So cool. So my p-day is officially Friday.

Love you all.
No time.

Tudo bem! (pronounced todo Bong with a long o. Its a common greeting and you say it back, like hello. but it means all's good)

No my visa didn't come through. My address at the MTC is:

Sister Kathryn Taylor
MTC Mailbox #208
BRA-SM 0328
2005 N. 900 E.
Provo utah 84604-1793

My departure date is March 28 and my mailbox number is 208. There is an email service called dear elder.com you can go write letters there and then send it, the MTC prints it off and gives it to us. That way there is no postage. That and letters are the only way we get mail during the day. I get to check my email on p-day, which is right now, it's really like 3 hours to get your laundry, letters and personal things done. It is a very big change. (but dear elder is a good idea :) )

Things are great here, my teachers are only speaking Portugues and its hard to understand sometimes. I keep changing in spanish words, so that makes it confusing but its great. Every minute of the day here is planned out, it's amazing.
At 6 am we get up and do a sisters only work out. They do a different program everyday, aerobics, toning, pilaties, etc. then we go have classes for about 6 hours a day and meals are about 30-45 minutes each meal. We have had lots of orientation meetings and we are learning how to pray and say our testimony in Portugues. They say that the first few days is the hardest because the schedule always changes but next week it should be consistant. I am excited. I am always tired though. I am not sleeping really soundly, which is suprising because I am so tired but I wake up a few times a night and a few minutes before the alarm goes off.

My companion is from Oregon and we are learning how to work together. Still getting a hang of everything that we are supposed to be doing. Her name is Sister Jessee. I'll send a pic if i can. I dont know if they let us download pictures here or not. There is definately a different way of thinking in the MTC and they do a good job of helping, its actually really nice to be so busy because we don't have time to feel home sick! :)

The food is pretty good, every meal has like 5 different options of things to eat so there is always something that is good.

The MTC is definately a special place and you always feel the spirit, BUT it is definately a lot of work.

Love you all, let me know how you are all doing!!!!!!

I'll write more next week. I am sure I'll have more to say when things are in a schedule! I am running out of time but let me tell you about the Visa's. Its really hard to get a Visa to Brazil right now. Missionaries that are going to Brazil have gone through the 9 MTC weeks and have had to be reassigned until they get their Visa's. I will probably have the same thing happen but it's all good. Rachel tell Daniel to get his Visa stuff done speedy quick. Now that I am trying to learn Portugues I am thinking stateside would be nice but I am excited for the day that I get to be in Brazil.

It slowly started to sink in that I am on a mission but it's pretty real now. I saw Elder Nielson and Elder Casper and some Sisters from my old BYU wards. The world is really small here!!!!! :)

Love you all,
Sister Taylor
